We use industry-standard encryption and follow PHIPA requirements for personal health information. Your personal health information is stored on servers located in Canada (AWS Canada Central Region, Montreal) and is not transferred outside Canada. Some non-PHI personal and technical data may be processed by service providers with servers in Canada or the United States, under contractual safeguards providing comparable protection.

ONRx offers scheduled access to licensed Ontario providers, flexible appointment times, secure health records, and prescriptions where your provider judges them clinically appropriate — without travelling to a clinic. You can join your appointment from anywhere you are physically located in Ontario.

Our platform can address many common concerns including cold and flu, allergies, skin conditions, mental health concerns, and chronic disease management. Some conditions require an in-person assessment, and your provider will tell you if that applies to you.

You may request a prescription renewal by booking a clinical consultation. Any prescription is issued only when the healthcare provider determines that it is clinically appropriate. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription, and ONRx does not prescribe narcotics or controlled substances through the platform.

What if I need a sick note?

Book a medical assessment with a licensed Ontario doctor. A medical note may be issued when the doctor determines it is clinically appropriate.

What if I am not covered by OHIP or other insurance plans?

Accepted Answer

You can still book an appointment and pay for it directly. This applies to visitors to Ontario, patients without OHIP eligibility, and patients paying privately or through a private insurer. A consultation with a physician is $59 CAD, and a consultation with a nurse practitioner is $50 CAD. Payment is taken at the time of booking, and we accept major credit and debit cards.
