3. Medical Information Disclaimer

The general health information provided on this website (outside of individual clinical consultations) is for informational purposes only and is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

  • Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this website
  • Do not use information on this website to self-diagnose or self-treat any medical condition
  • If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately

4. Virtual Care Limitations

Virtual healthcare services have inherent limitations that differ from in-person care:

  • Not all medical conditions can be assessed, diagnosed, or treated through a virtual consultation
  • Physical examinations cannot be performed remotely, which may limit diagnostic accuracy
  • A Healthcare Provider may determine that your condition requires in-person care and will refer you accordingly
  • Certain medications, including narcotics and controlled substances, cannot be prescribed through virtual consultations in accordance with the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act(Canada)
  • Prescriptions are issued at the sole clinical discretion of the Healthcare Provider and are not guaranteed
  • Service availability may be limited by Healthcare Provider schedules, and wait times may vary

5. Geographic Scope

ONRx primarily serves patients located in the Province of Ontario, Canada. Healthcare Providers on the Platform are licensed by Ontario regulatory colleges and are authorized to provide care to patients physically located in Ontario at the time of the consultation. Services may not be available in all regions or to patients located outside Ontario.

OHIP-covered services are available only to eligible Ontario residents with a valid OHIP card. Non-OHIP services (including but not limited to functional medicine, certain specialist consultations, and some pharmacy services) are provided on a fee-for-service basis regardless of insurance status.

6. Healthcare Provider Independence

Healthcare Providers who deliver services through the ONRx platform are independent regulated health professionals. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of ONRx. Each Healthcare Provider is licensed and regulated by the applicable Ontario regulatory college, including:

  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO)
  • Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)

Clinical decisions, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescriptions, are made independently by the Healthcare Provider based on their professional judgment and applicable standards of care. ONRx does not direct, control, or interfere with clinical decision-making.

7. Technology and Availability

Use of the Platform requires:

  • A device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with a working camera and microphone
  • A stable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth for video consultations
  • A supported and up-to-date web browser

ONRx does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the Platform. Service interruptions may occur due to scheduled maintenance, software updates, internet disruptions, power outages, cyberattacks, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We are not responsible for any harm or inconvenience caused by service interruptions or technical issues.

While we implement industry-standard security measures (encryption, access controls, and audit logging), no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. You acknowledge that there is an inherent risk in transmitting health information electronically.

8. No Guarantee of Outcomes

ONRx and the Healthcare Providers on the Platform do not guarantee any specific health outcomes, results, or cure. Medical care involves inherent uncertainties, and treatment effectiveness varies by individual. Your use of the Services and reliance on any information provided through the Platform is at your own risk.
